Overview
Released by Konami in 1992, Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break marked the franchise's debut on the handheld Nintendo Game Boy. The storyline centers on Babs Bunny, who sets off for the Acme Theater with grand ambitions of becoming a famous star. Unbeknownst to Babs, the ruthless Montana Max plans to buy out and demolish the theater to construct his own factory. Fearing for her safety and her dreams, Buster Bunny, Plucky Duck, and Hamton J. Pig set off on a rescue mission across Acme Acres to warn Babs, clear a path, and stop Montana Max before it is too late.
Gameplay spans four distinct side-scrolling stages—including Acme Looniversity, the city sewers, a haunted forest, and Montana Max's mansion—where players can swap between Buster, Plucky, and Hamton on the fly. Each playable toon brings a distinct thrown-projectile attack to dispatch enemies: Buster tosses carrots in an arcing trajectory, Plucky throws bouncing pineapples, and Hamton rolls watermelons along the floor. Throughout their journey, the trio gets assistance from sidekicks like Dizzy Devil, Furrball, Fifi La Fume, and Shirley the Loon, while avoiding hazard characters like Elmyra Duff and Arnold the Pit Bull. Players can also collect gems to participate in button-mashing mini-games that award extra lives and health upgrades, culminating in a final showdown against Montana Max.
